Matta, Kellogg to headline Morning Sports Report

Mark your calendar now to attend the fourth-annual The Morning Sports Report, presented by the Greater Columbus Sports Commission on Aug. 28.

The fun, informational breakfast will be held from 7:30-9 a.m. at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. Proceeds benefit the Greater Columbus Sports Commission.

Ohio State men's basketball coach Thad Matta and CBS analyst Clark Kellogg will be among the featured guests at the event, which also will feature representatives of the city's major sports teams and events, including the Columbus Blue Jackets, Columbus Clippers, Columbus Crew, Columbus Destroyers, Ohio State University and the Ohio High School Athletic Association, which holds several state championship tournaments in Columbus each year.

"This year's Morning Sports Report has grown to become the Sports Commission's de facto annual meeting, and this year will be particularly special as we celebrate the Sports Commission's fifth anniversary," said Linda Logan, Greater Columbus Sports Commission executive director. "Our city has come a very long way as a sports destination in the last five years, and we couldn't have done it without the collective work of all of our sports organizations, Ohio State and our entire hospitality community. We are excited about what the future holds for our community as a sports destination."

Emcee is Jeff Hogan of WBNS 10TV and host is Bruce Hooley of 1460 The Fan.

Tickets are $65 for an individual seat; $700 for a table for ten and 2 tickets to VIP reception with sports celebrities; $85 for an individual VIP seat and one ticket to the VIP reception with sports celebrities; and $1,500 for VIP table for ten with the opportunity to host a sports celebrity, 10 tickets to VIP reception with sports celebrities, an autographed basketball by Thad Matta and recognition in pre- and post-event promotion. All attendees will receive tickets to the following: Arnold Sports Festival in 2008; Columbus Blue Jackets game; Columbus Destroyers game; Columbus Clippers game; Columbus Crew game; Ohio State University women's basketball or men's hockey game. The ticket package is worth more than $200.
