GCAC & COSI Partner for Star Wars Ticketing

On June 3, 2006, COSI Columbus will be the first official U.S. stop for Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination. Developed by the Museum of Science in Boston in collaboration with Lucasfilm Ltd., the 10,000 square-foot exhibit explores the fantasy technologies depicted in the Star Wars films, the real science behind them, and the current research that may someday lead to remarkable real-life versions of the technologies seen in the film series.

In partnership with COSI, GCAC & ColumbusArts.com are developing an electronic online sales system that will allow visitors to the COSI and ColumbusArts.com web sites the opportunity to purchase online tickets for the Star Wars exhibition. Online tickets will be available throughout the run of the exhibition (June 3 — September 4, 2006) and can be purchased as a "timed" ticket allowing the ticket buyer to pick the date and time of their visit, thus providing a hassle-free visitor experience.

"We are delighted to be working with GCAC as our on-line ticketing partner," said David Chesebrough, COSI's President & CEO. "The GCAC system will allow us to conveniently and cost-effectively sell tickets to both the general public and COSI Members. Just as importantly, the service fees go back to GCAC to help fund arts and cultural organizations, which benefits the entire community."

GCAC is also developing online ticketing for COSI's Extreme Screen theatre and an online membership purchasing system.

Advance online ticketing for Star Wars began on March 15, 2006 and will be available on both COSI.org and ColumbusArts.com.
