Artspace Studies Columbus as a Potential Project Site

As part of an effort to increase arts spaces in the community, the Greater Columbus Arts Council in partnership with Columbus City Council in August hosted a two-day visit with staff members from Artspace, a nationally recognized organization dedicated to creating affordable arts spaces.

Artspace is a nonprofit property development agency for the arts based in Minneapolis whose mission is to create and manage space where artists can live, work, exhibit, perform and conduct business.

While in Columbus, Artspace staff members toured several potential project sites and held meetings with key stakeholders in the community, along with a public meeting and presentation. A full report on the visit, which will determine the feasibility of a new multipurpose arts facility, will be available soon.
