Germain Entertainment Auction Raises $12,959 for Children of the Future

An autographed Poison guitar, sold for $1,200, was the highlight of the more than 50 concert memorabilia pieces auctioned this fall to benefit the Greater Columbus Art Council's Children of the Future program.

The final tally for the Sixth Annual F.Y.E. For Your Entertainment Germain Amphitheater Auction, held Thursday, September 6, was $12,959. Germain and its parent company, Live Nation, have raised more than $140,000 for Children of the Future through this annual event.

Children of the Future is an arts and public safety program administered by GCAC that engages a diverse group of artists with inner-city children ages 5-14 and provides them with safe environments to explore the arts and develop communication and critical thinking skills five days a week, during after school hours and through the summer.

"Germain Amphitheater has been an excellent example of a good neighbor, and the money, time and effort that go into this event has helped to ensure the continued success of the Children of the Future Program," said Tim Katz, GCAC's Community Education Director. "We are thankful for their support."
