ArtZine Nominated For Three Emmy Awards

WOSU TV's ArtZine, sponsored by the Greater Columbus Arts Council, has been nominated for three Emmy Awards by the Ohio Valley Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Winners will be announced at the 43rd Annual Midwestern Regional Emmy Awards ceremony on June 23 at the Hyatt Regency in Columbus.
ArtZine is nominated for Arts/Entertainment Program, Magazine Program, and Program Host/Moderator (for Charlene Brown).
ArtZine is a television magazine featuring local art organizations, activities and artists designed to develop greater appreciation of the cultural opportunities available in central Ohio. ArtZine strives to show the process behind exhibitions, festivals, and productions. Features have included the Columbus Arts Festival, various art organizations, musicians, muralists, sculptors, painters, mimes and actors. WOSU TV's Cindy Gaillard is the executive producer of the series. WOSU TV's Forest Godsey produces segments, and Charlene Brown is the host.
The Ohio Valley Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences presents the Emmy Award to television professionals in 13 markets and four states and makes its scholarship available to students at accredited colleges and universities throughout the region. The chapter's first Emmy Awards were presented in 1964.
Last year, ArtZine won an Emmy award in the Arts/Entertainment Program category, and in March, the show took top honors at the National Educational Telecommunications Association conference.
