Columbus Named A Top 25 City For The Arts For The Second Year

For the second year in a row, American Style magazine, a respected national arts magazine, has listed Columbus as one of the top 25 big cities for the arts.

The list, determined by a popular vote of American Style readers, is generated annually. Columbus competed with cities that have a population of 500,000 or higher. A record number of people voted on this year's list, according to an article in the June issue of American Style.

"Columbus is a world class city for the arts and culture, and we hope this recognition will make Columbus residents and visitors more aware of the strong arts organizations and rich cultural heritage of the area," said GCAC President Bryan W. Knicely.

Other big cities on the list include: New York, Chicago, Portland, Ore. and Charlotte, N.C. Cincinnati and Cleveland were mentioned in the mid-sized category, for cities with a population of 100,000-499,999.
