Business Arts Partnership Awards To Feature Rebecca Ryan

National City, Time Warner Cable and NBC 4 sign on as event sponsors

The Greater Columbus Arts Council's 2007 Business Arts Partnership Awards presented by National City will feature Rebecca Ryan, founder of Next Generation Consulting, who will speak about engaging students and young professionals through the arts.

The awards luncheon – sponsored by National City, Time Warner Cable and NBC 4 – will take place from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Tues., April 17 in the Ohio Statehouse atrium. Tickets to the event are $60 for individuals or $600 for a table of 10 and can be purchased on the GCAC Web site.

Ryan is one of the nation's most in-demand consultants for clients who want to engage young professionals. She is currently working with the Columbus Chamber, GCAC, Chase Bank, the City of Columbus and Experience Columbus on an initiative to attract and retain students and young professionals, the city's future workforce and arts patrons. Ryan was named Entrepreneur of the Year by the U.S. Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship and is writing her second book, Live First Work Second.

The annual Business Arts Partnership Awards celebrates the Columbus corporate community's crucial contributions to the arts. Each year, arts organizations and individual businesses can nominate businesses in three categories: Small Business (up to 50 employees); Medium Business (51 to 500 employees); and Large Business (over 500 employees). Each winning business receives an original work of art by a Franklin County artist.

GCAC also presents its Artistic Excellence Award to an arts organization that has demonstrated innovation, risk, and artistic excellence in a performance, exhibition or program. Artistic Excellence Award winners receive $10,000 toward furthering the organization's mission.
