Columbus Arts Festival Announces 2007 Visual Artists

The Greater Columbus Arts Council's 2007 Columbus Arts Festival presented by Chase will feature over 250 artists, chosen from more than 1,100 applications from artists nationwide.

The artists were chosen during a two-day blind jury process February 3 and 4. For a full list of artists, go to the Festival page of the GCAC Web site. The 2007 Columbus Arts Festival will take place from June 7-10 along the downtown riverfront. More than 250,000 Columbus residents and visitors are expected to attend.

"The quality of our visual artist applications is always good, but it was exceptional this year," said Katie Lucas, Festival Director. "I think this year's Festival artists are fantastic, and I'm looking forward to having them here."

Additionally, the Columbus Arts Festival recently was listed in AmericanStyle magazine as an essential festival for 2007.

"This national media recognition is just another affirmation of how special our Festival truly is, and how the work of our volunteers, sponsors and artists pays off for the city of Columbus," Lucas said.

This year's Festival sponsors are Chase, Time Warner Cable, NBC 4, Ohio Magazine, SWACO and Bud Light.
