Save the Date: 2009 Business Arts Partnership AwardsSave the date for the Greater Columbus Arts Council’s 2009 Business Arts Partnership Awards, which will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, March 6 at COSI Columbus. The annual Business Arts Partnership awards honor the corporate community's crucial support of the arts in Columbus by allowing arts organizations to publicly recognize the generous support provided by outstanding corporate partners.

Partnership Allows Program Veterans the Chance to Give BackGCAC’s Art in the House, new this year, allows children ages 5-11 to begin their connection to creative thinking through the arts. But partner program TRANSIT ARTS, which serves youth ages 12 and up, allows teens to continue their learning and grow into mentors for kids in Art in the House and other programs.

Franklin County Honored With the 2008 National Award for County Arts LeadershipThe Franklin County Board of Commissioners recently received national recognition for dedication to the arts. The Public Leadership in the Arts Awards were presented by Americans for the Arts and the National Association of Counties in July.

Despite Blazing Heat, Residents, Visitors Discover the Art at the 2008 Columbus Arts FestivalThe Columbus Arts Festival presented by Time Warner Cable experienced some of the hottest days on record this summer with heat indexes each day at around 110 degrees. But more than 250,000 eager fans braved the elements to explore the Festival’s new location in downtown’s Discovery District.

ARTSPACE SURVEYArtspace Survey—The Results Are InColumbus-area artists and arts organizations need more space for studios, live/work spaces and arts-friendly businesses, according to a study released in August by the Greater Columbus Arts Council.
